eu travel tech Will Join IMCO’s Hearing on Short-Term Rentals

On 25 April, eu travel tech will participate in the European Parliament’s IMCO Committee hearing “Modernising the regulation of online platforms intermediating short-term accommodation rental services.” The hearing aims at informing the upcoming IMCO work on the European Commission’s proposal on data collection and sharing relating to short-term accommodation rental services. The new framework, adopted by the Commission in November 2022, will harmonise registration procedures for STR hosts across the EU and data sharing requirements for STR platforms. It will also ensure the establishment of a digital infrastructure in the Member States to facilitate both hosts’ registration and platforms’ sharing of data.
